Beauty DNA, $25/month, beauty product
I paid $0
Box retail value: $110
Canceling subscription: Not sure.
Beauty DNA is a monthly subscription box that sends you ONE full size product every month, based on a detailed questionnaire of your beauty needs. I’ve been curious about it for a while, but I’m not super eager to spend $25 for just one product, when for the same price I can get multiple products in other boxes. Still, I got an offer for one-month free of Beauty DNA and I couldn’t pass it up.
When you sign up with BeautyDNA you fill out an extensive questionnaire about your beauty needs and the type of products you want to try. I specified that I wanted anti-aging skin products, among others, and the cream they did a very good job of matching me for this first box. This is what I got:
A.G.E. TOTAL DEFENCE by G.M. Collin, 1.7 oz, $110 ($74 at Amazon.com)
This is a moisturizer that you can use in the morning and evening that combines ” 8 antioxidants and 5 peptides to combat all the visible signs of aging”. It’s pretty thick and slightly tinted. I am not really sure if this product is supposed to help repair the skin or hide wrinkles, I think probably a little bit of both. I tried it and it’s pretty thick and greasy. It takes a while for it to absorb into my skin. I probably would not want to wear it during the day – unless I’m staying at home – but it seems like a good option at night.
